A study of more than 2,100 HIVers conducted by drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline has found that people taking combination pills had the best rates of adherence to their treatment regimens. The study, published in the November 2005 issue of AIDS Care, showed that HIVers taking Combivir, which combines the medications Epivir and Retrovir into a single pill, were more than twice as likely to achieve a 95% adherence rate than those taking the medications separately.
