Pride Most Moving
Many of the Pride celebrations here in the U.S. and abroad occured after the mass shooting in Orlando. Sifting back over the images we have posted this month had a roller-coaster feeling. There were all the joyful Pride celebrations through June 11, and then there were still more joyful celebrations June 12 and after, but there was a new presence at the post-Orlando Prides—one of deep mourning and loss. But there was also something else, an insistence on still celebrating our freedom and our right to be, and a renewed dedication to being visible at all costs. This year we note that more and more straight allies joined us to show support, and also because it is a great way to spend the day with your family.
