Meet the PrEP Squad
Meet the PrEP Squad, a group of Washington, D.C. volunteers promoting sexual health among all men who love and have sex with men. Because PrEP, when used as prescribed, is nearly 100 percent effective in preventing the transmission of HIV—even during anal sex with a partner who is HIV positive—the Squad has focused on promoting the daily HIV prevention pill. They also recognize the importance treatment as prevention (TasP), getting those who are HIV-positive on treatment because having an undetectable viral loads also reduces HIV transmission risk to near zero.

In addition, the PrEP Squad point out that the use of a properly fitting latex or polyurethane condom along with plenty of silicone or water based lube is the only way to reduce the risk of becoming infected with common sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia during sexual activity.
