HIVers taking both Sustiva and the tuberculosis treatment Mycobutin (rifabutin) might have to adjust their dosage of the TB drug because of adverse interactions that can result in suboptimal levels of Mycobutin in the body. Increasing the dosage of Mycobutin from 300 milligrams twice weekly to 600 milligrams twice weekly is enough to compensate for the drug interaction in most patients, researchers reported in the November 1 edition of the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases.
