The U.S. Court of Appeals in June ruled that a federal HIV discrimination case filed against the State Department will go to trial. Lorezno Taylor, featured in HIV Plus' May 2004 cover story, was denied employment as a foreign service officer solely because he has HIV. Taylor sued in 2002. The appeals court judge rejected the State Department's dismissal request and claims that hiring Taylor would impose undue hardship, ruling there's 'more than enough' evidence for the case to go to trial.
