Researchers report having identified distinct subgroups of youths who may be putting themselves at a higher risk for HIV infection than their peers. A survey of more than 1,100 people between 15 and 21 showed that teens with certain behaviors, living arrangements, or mental health problems were engaging in unprotected sex far more often than their peers.
