How to Travel While Living With HIV

Even while living with HIV, it’s important to know that your life is not limited by your status. You can enjoy vacations without worry as long as you are prepared beforehand. In the video above, these individuals help you prepare for your next journey. From being mindful of how much medicine you have for your trip to talking to your doctor about getting an early prescription, you have options for taking on your status and enjoying a trip. But depending on your treatment regimen, it may not even be a concern. “Nowadays, I’m taking a shot. And I get a shot every other month, so sometimes it’s like I don’t have HIV because I’m not reminded of it,” Executive Director of the Capitol Area Reentry Program Inc. Gjvar Payne starts. “But other than that, if you’re a person like myself and love to travel, then hey, live life.” Watch the video to learn more.
