The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health has fined a gay pornography studio for not ensuring that its performers wear condoms for its films.
Treasure Island Media, which promotes bareback pornography, was issued three citations, requiring owners to pay $21,470 in fines after an investigation conducted between November 2009 and March 2010, XBiz reports. One of the citations said Treasure Island Media had not developed procedures to enforce several health and safety policies, including hepatitis B vaccinations. Another citation, according to the 23-page report, said the company "does not observe universal precautions during the production of their films."
Treasure Island Media general manager Matt Mason said the company plan to appealed the citations before an administrative law judge in 2011.
In November, Treasure Island Media announced a contract extension for James Roscoe, an HIV-positive actor who specializes in bareback sex, and his HIV-negative partner, Brad McGuire (shown above).
