The lovable Bravo star has been suffering in secret for nearly nine months.

After suffering from what's being called a "debilitating accident," Project Runway season 4 star Chris March was placed in a medically induced coma for several weeks, according to his reps. Though he’s since been taken out of it, he’s currently in a “very fragile state.”

March was a fan favorite during his tenure on Bravo, starring in Project Runway and Mad Fashion, which gave viewers an up-close-and-personal look at him and his design team. Celebrities like Madonna, Beyoncé, Prince, Meryl Streep, Lady Gaga, and Chaka Khan have worn his clothes. He’s also appeared on The Real Housewives of New York City alongside his friend Sonja Morgan.

In a 2011 interview with The Advocate, March elaborated on his craft, saying he never wants to make his clients “feel ridiculous, so I try to get a good sense of ... what they’re comfortable with, and maybe what they’re comfortable with but they’re not exactly telling you. So that you can kind of give them the right outfit that makes them have this tremendous experience that they never even thought of. It’s easy to be safe, but it’s more fun to be outrageous. So I try to work within those lines.”

March is also known for signing Stevie Nicks's name on every outfit he does, saying it’s a superstition that started nearly 20 years ago. “I had a photo of Stevie Nicks in my workshop that we put on the ceiling above our work area, and we always just had this joke that Stevie Nicks was looking down on us and blessing everything that we did,” he said.

He added, “One day I wrote her name inside of something I made because I was having a particularly difficult time with it and I was like, ‘Oh, I hope Stevie helps me with this thing,’ and we just started doing it. We started writing her name inside of everything that I’ve made for the last 20 years. And I’m a huge fan of hers, and in fact in two weeks I’m going to see her and I’ve got tickets in the front row center — finally.”

Since news of his hospitalization, a Go Fund Me page has been made to help support funds for his recovery.

“Every day Chris keeps getting stronger, but he's got a long recovery road ahead,” a statement on the page reads, adding: “We want Chris March to continue making us giggle with his infectious laugh, incredible outfits, unexpected outrages and most of all his out-of-this-world wigs, all of which make us always feel fabulous!”
