The 2005 World AIDS Marathon, a series of events to raise HIV and cancer awareness and generate funds for medical research, will be held Gainesville, Fla., from November 29-December 6, to coincide with World AIDS Day. The eight-day event, organized by the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation, will include a fund-raising marathon, a 5K walk, a conference focusing on HIV and cancer, an art exhibition, and a concert. Funds raised from the event will benefit Visual AIDS, the Gainesville Area AIDS Project, research programs at the University of Florida, and other AIDS and cancer organizations. The event is the brainchild of Brodsky, who is HIV-positive and a cancer survivor. For more information, go online to www.worldaidsmarathon.com.
