The U.S. Department of Justice launched a formal inquiry in October into medical care--including HIV treatment--provided to inmates in Delaware's prisons. The investigation follows a series of newspaper articles in the Wilmington News Journal examining AIDS-related deaths in the state's prisons and complaints from inmates that they receive poor care. Delaware governor Ruth Ann Minner says the newspaper articles are inaccurate.
