Some HIVers appear to be genetically prone to developing elevated levels of bilirubin, a pigment produced by the liver that can cause jaundice, but a genetic test can identify these patients before they're prescribed anti-HIV medications linked with the condition, according to a study in the October 15 edition of the Journal of Infectious Diseases.
