HIV patients taking antiretroviral drugs should not take the skin drug Amevive, the Food and Drug Administration warns. The FDA and Amevive maker Biogen Idec say that combining the skin drug, used to treat chronic plaque psoriasis, with anti-HIV meds can result in a loss of CD4 cells, which in turn can lead to accelerated HIV disease progress.
