According to the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health, teenagers who say their sexual relationships are romantic are considerably more likely to practice safer sex than those in more casual relationships, The Washington Post reports. Researchers believe teens feel more comfortable talking about safer sex and negotiating condom use with a romantic partner they know and trust, and with whom they have a strong emotional connection.
