#AskTheHIVDoc Episode 2: Swab My Butt!

Video2

Swabs are a good thing, if you ask Dr. Demetre.

Dr. Demetre tackles the topic of the “gay physical” in the latest installment of the #AskTheHIVDoc web series.

“You need to be tested for HIV at least a couple times a year if not more,” Dr. Demetre said when asked about whether there is some sort of regular check up gay men should be doing. “You need to be screened for sexually transmitted infections, and that doesn’t just mean peeing in a cup. It means getting your butt swabbed and your throat swabbed.”
