An HIV-positive gay Filipino-American shares his path through depression, drug addiction and homelessness.

In this video, Ron H., a Filipino-American gay man, shares how a lifetime struggle with untreated depression led him to drug addiction, which eventually led him to an HIV diagnosis. He lost his job and became homeless. With treatment and support, he was able to cope with his depression, kick his drug habit, and get treatment for HIV.

His HIV viral load is now undetectable and he has found a new welcoming home in the Asian & Pacific Islander community.

This video is part of  a national digital storytelling campaign to fight HIV stigma. Supported by The Banyan Tree Project, the digital stories are in honor of the 10th annual National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.
