A former president joined joined Kami, an HIV-positive muppet, to deliver a public service announcement.
In commemoration of World AIDS Day 2006, Bill Clinton sat down with Kami, an HIV-positive character from Takalani Sesame, the South African coproduction of Sesame Street, and spoke about HIV awareness.
“I like to talk to people about my school, my friends and my favorite things. Oh, and I also talk to people about HIV and AIDS,” the furry yellow Muppet said to Clinton. He then replies, “Me too, Kami. Talking and listening, and helping people learn about HIV and AIDS, are two of the things I do a lot.”
Kami made international news when she was introduced in September 2002 as the world’s first HIV-positive muppet. Watch the video here:
