Walgreens is offering essential resources to HIV patients to make sure they receive their treatment on time.

Ensuring that HIV-positive patients take their medication is one of the most essential components in the fight against the virus. To help support adherence, Walgreens has equipped over 700 HIV-specialized pharmacies across the country and Puerto Rico with specially-trained pharmacists and personalized counseling, which can provide patients with in-store assistance.

In an effort to build trust and commitment of privacy, Walgreens has a mobile app that can send refill reminders, in order to ensure those who take HIV regimens or PrEP receive their medication on time. The app can also be used to schedule a vaccination or review weekly coupons available at the national chain.
