Moderate aerobic exercise for 45 minutes three times a week can significantly improve cardiovascular and nervous system function in HIV-positive adults, according to a study presented at the 35th Congress of the International Union of Physiological Sciences. Moderate exercise resulted in improvements in artery flexibility, nervous system activity linked with heart rate, and responses to blood pressure changes. The lead researcher concluded that 'moderate aerobic exercise'may be a cost-effective supplemental therapy, with improved physiological function as the only side effect.'
