Opinions Differ Over HIV Care

National surveys reported in the Journal of the International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care show that you and your doctor may have very different views of your care, beginning with your level of HIV knowledge. Ninety-five percent of HIV docs believe just half or fewer of their patients understand what they are told about HIV and its treatment, but 66% of HIVers say they almost always understand such conversations. One area of agreement: anti-HIV meds. Almost 80% of both doctors and patients are satisfied with current therapies.
