Know Your Cardiac Risks

Because HIV disease and its treatment can significantly boost the chance of having a heart attack, all HIVers should be regularly screened for such cardiovascular risks as elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels, diabetes, kidney abnormalities, weight gain, and smoking, according to new recommendations from the American Heart Association and the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
