Jack's Back!

HIVer, Project Runway alum, and HIV Plus January/February 2008 coverboy Jack Mackenroth has launched a new nationwide HIV educational campaign called 'Living Positive by Design.' Working with AIDS organizations across the country, Mackenroth will be speaking with community members about his personal experiences living with HIV to help combat the stigma that still surrounds the disease in much of the country. The campaign also hopes to educate HIVers about the importance of consistent adherence to anti-HIV drug regimens that can lower the amount of virus in their blood and reverse immune system damage caused by HIV, backers say. 'Through 'Living Positive by Design,' I will be speaking about my experiences living with HIV for nearly 20 years ' and highlighting the importance for people living with HIV to have a positive outlook on life while effectively managing their disease,' Mackenroth says. The campaign kicked off in Miami; events are scheduled for early 2009 in Houston and San Francisco, with more dates and cities to come.
