Abstinence Web Site Is Criticized
Gay rights activists, comprehensive sex education proponents, and family planning groups are lambasting a U.S. government Web site aimed at helping parents discuss abstinence with their children. AIDS activists say the site'at www.4parents.gov'presents misleading information about the efficacy of condoms. The Web site also suggests parents seek therapy for children who might be gay. More than 100 organizations contacted Health and Human Services secretary Michael Leavitt to complain.
