Fighting AIDS With Your PC

Coverx100_512

Personal computer users are being offered a unique opportunity to participate in the quest for new and better anti-HIV medications. Through the FightAIDS@Home project, backed by IBM and Scripps Research Institute, PC users can link to a massive grid that harnesses the individual computing power of each computer while it is idling. Using this collective power will help in analyzing the effectiveness of chemical compounds in inhibiting HIV. Computer users can download free software to participate; for a link to the software's online location, visit the FightAIDS@Home project's Web site.
