Cognitive problems are a concern for many HIVers, particularly those entering their senior years, when memory loss becomes more common. But a new study has shown that simple 'brain exercises' after age 50'including reading magazines and books, playing board or video games, doing craft activities, and using a computer'can decrease the risk of memory loss by 30% to 50%. And turn off the boob tube, the researchers urge. They found that adults who watched TV less than seven hours a day were 50% less likely to develop memory loss than those glued to the set more often.
