Are You an Amazing HIV+ Person? Know Someone Who Is?

Amazingx400

Plus magazine is looking for a few good men and women.

Amazingx968Every year we have a special feature, 20 Amazing HIV Positive Gay Men, which last year expanded to include bisexual men and are now opening to all HIV-positive people who identify as men. Earlier this year, we did the same list celebrating HIV-positive women, which included both transgender women and cisgender (or nontrans) women. We also welcome nominees those who don't identify as male or female.

Why do we do these lists? Because we all need role models — we need to see other people like ourselves who are doing amazing things with their lives and often changing the lives of others along the way. They do this despite being poz; for many, finding out they had HIV was the catalyst to becoming an amazing person, in fact.

But after a few years of making the list up ourselves, we’re ready to put it to the test and ask you: Who deserves to be profiled in an upcoming list of the 50 Most Amazing HIV-Positive People in the U.S. (and yes, before you ask: You can sneak in folks who live elsewhere as long as they have an impact on those of us in the U.S.).

Here’s how to get us the info:

You can email us the name and photo of person you are voting for along with a short note on why you recommend them to editor@hivplusmag.com.

You can tweet that info to @HIVPlusMag with the hashtag #amazingpluspeople or post it on our Facebook page at Facebook.com/hivplusmag.

Be sure to include the Twitter handle or Facebook tag of the person you are nominating as well if you have it. We can't reply to everyone but we promise to consider anyone who is nominated and make sure you know when the list is out later this year.
