It's been two years since the Food and Drug Administration approved the drug Truvada for the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis, but the prevention plan hasn't grown in popularity as much as expected, especially now that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend it for 1 in 4 gay and bi men. Some of this is due to some confusion about what PrEP is, the stigma around using it, and the overall stigma of having HIV in general.Â
