A radio DJ in New York City has apologized after making a crude remark on the air on Friday that he doesn't have HIV because he "doesn't mess with Haitian girls."
Listeners flooded radio station Hot 97 with complaints about comments made by DJ Cipha Sounds, whose real name is Luis Diaz. Protesters also planned to demonstrate outside of the station on Tuesday. Some have also asked that he be fired.
"I made a stupid, tasteless joke that was a one-liner that was taken totally the wrong way," Diaz said on the air Monday, according to WPIX News.
