The Food and Drug Administration in September 2003 launched a campaign to provide women with information about the benefits and risks of hormone replacement therapy. The FDA recommends that women who opt for HRT to treat such menopausal symptoms as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and osteoporosis take the lowest dose possible for the shortest amount of time possible.
