Although Uganda has dramatically lowered its HIV prevalence rate through the 'ABC' prevention effort'abstain, be monogamous, or use condoms'a new study shows the success is mostly attributable to condom use. Abstinence and monogamy actually decreased among Ugandan men from 1994 to 2003, according to the study of 10,000 people. But condom use with nonmarital partners also rose considerably, the researchers say.
