State's HIVers Can Play School Sports
The Tennessee State Board of Education ruled in April that HIV-positive students can participate in public school sports and all other school-sponsored physical activities. HIV-positive students were previously barred from sports because of fears that they might expose others to the virus. The policy takes effect in August.
