This year's theme for HIV Testing Day is "Knowing."
HIV Testing Day 2020 is today, June 27, and it occurs as the COVID-19 pandemic is surging in about half of the United States.
Testing Day, begun in 1995, is about letting people know their status, so they can be pro-active about their health and, if they are HIV-positive, immediately get linked to care and treatment.
"The 2020 theme -- “Knowing” -- focuses on knowing’s one HIV status, and recognizes new ways to take an HIV test, and reflects that we can continue the momentum toward Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America," according HIV.gov.
The government site is encouraging novel ways of getting tested, like self-testing, as many people are anxious about going to a doctor's office in the middle of the pandemic. Find out more about testing options in the video below and click here for additional information.
